Why I Love My Business

If you don’t love what you do, then there’s a pretty good chance that you won’t stay long with it. There are plenty of unhappy people shuffling around today. They’re employed all around us. It’s been my personal experience that very few people actually work a job that they really enjoy. Necessity for income overrides that pleasure.

As an aspiring business owner, whether part-time or full-time, you’ve made your present decision in hopes of a certain goal. While this goal may differ from person to person, it’s probably safe to say that it includes financial freedom.

Why I Love My Business

Why I Love My Business

The comfort of not having to work or stress for money is something all of us want. Ask one hundred people if they’d like to be financially independent, and it’s pretty safe to say that all of them will answer yes.

This is why I love home business.

Network marketing is the modern equivalent of the mythical American Dream. It really is quite possible to go from rags to riches. There are several great cases of ordinary people completely transforming their lives. Who’s to say you can’t be next?

Since we’ve already gone over the importance and process of selecting a good company (see previous lesson), I wanted to take today to share with you my own.

I found my company by pure happenstance. I had purchased a home fitness program after seeing it on television, and shortly thereafter I discovered my opportunity. The company which produced my program had a network marketing base.

I was hooked from the very beginning.

What really attracted me to this particular business was the chance to help other people. As my own body began to change and improve from the hard work and dedication, my passion began to grow. I fell in love with the idea of transforming people’s lives. That’s what got me going, and it’s still what drives me today.

Before you leave here, however, I want to lay a few ground rules first. If you’re considering joining me in my quest for better health, there are a few things you should know:

#1 – This is NOT a get-rich-quick scheme…

If you’re someone who wants to make a million dollars in the next six months so you can drive fancy cars and live in a fancy house, then this isn’t the opportunity for you. Sorry…this opportunity is for people who want to help CHANGE LIVES. It’s for people who want to get healthy through regular exercise and proper nutrition. This business is a lifestyle. If you aren’t ready to change the way you exercise, eat and think, then you best not apply. The money is just a side-effect (a really nice side-effect $$).

#2 – This is NOT for cheap people!

I made it a business principle of mine from the very outset NOT to work with cheap people. A business is an investment. It requires that you invest all three of your most precious resources – time, energy and money. If you can’t afford to make time for your business or place it high enough on your priority list to allocate some capital, then you shouldn’t get involved. I don’t mean to sound harsh, but business is business! It requires real work!

#3 – You WILL have to lead by example…

Do not expect to join this business if you don’t plan on changing your lifestyle. Who in their right mind would buy fitness products from an overweight distributor who eats pizza all day? Nobody. You will have to lead by example if you want to be taken seriously. This means committing to regular exercise and proper nutrition. It DOESN’T mean that you have to be PERFECT already. It DOES mean that you have to give your BEST.

#4 – You WILL have to want to learn…

A big part of operating a business is in learning and developing new skills. This business, like any home business, requires a great deal of learning if one wants to be successful. If you aren’t someone who likes to learn new things, then this probably isn’t for you. This business requires social skills, marketing skills, advertising skills and online skills. You’ll have to be willing to learn these things.

#5 – You WILL have to love what you do…

If you’ve followed me for a while and you like what I stand for, please don’t join this business just for that reason. If you’re someone who wants to get healthier and share good health with others, then I’d love to have you join! You want to love what you do. If you don’t love what you do, then you won’t enjoy doing it. This is the very first lesson I learned in this business (as told in an earlier post).

If you feel you pass all of these ground rules, then I’d love to work in conjunction with you. The opportunity to change your life and the lives of others is a marvelous thing!
