Where Have I Been?

Some of you are probably wondering where I’ve been for the past week or so. I just up and disappeared!!

Well, I was actually on vacation! I apologize for not letting you know ahead of time!

I spent some time in the great cultural city of New Orleans, Louisiana. I had never been there before. It was a long 1100-mile drive to get there, but it was a very memorable and exciting experience!

Where Have I Been?

In case you didn’t know, I love to run half-marathons. Part of my joy in running these races comes from doing so in different cities all over the country. I love traveling and seeing new things. That being said, New Orleans has long been on my list of places to visit!

So before I dive back into business things, I want to take today to share with you a little bit about what I did!

The sign you see above IS my network marketing business. I promote travel and living a fun life! So I guess, at least on some level, my “vacation” was actually a “business” trip 😉

Send me a message on Facebook if you’d like to learn more about how you can do this too!

But seeing as it’s impossible to condense my entire trip into one single article, I’m just going to touch on the highlights of what happened.

Last Friday, around 7:30 PM EST, I picked up a buddy of mine and began a long drive south from my home in western Pennsylvania.

20 hours later, I arrived in New Orleans! The scenery on such a long drive is always very interesting. For example, being from the north, I don’t typically get to see the southern flora and fauna very much. It was actually kind of cool.

The next few days allowed me to indulge in the following awesome experiences:

  • I ran a half-marathon through the historic and culturally infused streets of New Orleans!
  • I explored one of the largest World War II museums in existence and even enjoyed a 4D film about the war, complete with some impressive special effects!
  • I ate gator for the first time! (It actually wasn’t that bad!)
  • I explored the famous French Quarter section of the city, including the well-known French Market within this section!
  • I tried donuts and coffee at the heralded Café Du Monde!
  • I saw the Mississippi River in person for the first time!
  • I walked through an extremely old historic cemetery where people have been buried since the 1700s! New Orleans is known for these above ground cemeteries!
  • I ate gumbo for the first time at an authentic Creole-style New Orleans restaurant!
  • I saw my first ever live NBA game between the San Antonio Spurs and the New Orleans Pelicans! This also allowed me to see the famous Louisiana Superdome in person, as it was right next door to the basketball arena. It was huge!

These are just some of the highlights of what was an extremely memorable and fun-filled vacation!

The drive home was also very memorable, although it wasn’t nearly as fun. My long trip back hit very inclement weather, bottoming out with awful road conditions through the whole state of Ohio.

Seeing so many trailer trucks jackknifed and cars in the median strip made for quite the ride back! I did make it safely though, and I’m very thankful for that.

All in all, my vacation was a great deal of fun. I believe everyone should have the opportunity to take trips like this, and that’s why I love that little blue sign (see above).

Tomorrow we’ll get back to more traditional “business” endeavors.
