Freedom…You Already Have It

Since yesterday was Independence Day here in the United States, I thought it only fitting to talk a little bit about the subject of freedom.

I was presented with a viewpoint quite recently that challenged my own views on this issue quite impressively. Putting it plainly, I’ve always been someone who’s regarded real freedom as being totally independent from a job.

I think a great many entrepreneurs probably feel the same way.

Freedom...You Already Have It

Freedom…You Already Have It

There is, however, a delusion that comes along with this type of thinking that can damage one’s progress. In thinking that we aren’t already free, we chain ourselves to invisible restrictions.

Let me explain this point a little more clearly.

Most home business owners and self-described “entrepreneurs” are seeking what they call “financial freedom.” In other words, they’re attempting to generate enough income from their own business ventures to no longer be dependent upon a job.

This is the viewpoint that I’ve held for quite some time now in regards to the goals of most people. Most business owners want freedom in the form of time, money, energy and action.

They want something that they don’t believe they have.

In thinking this matter over lately, I came to a conclusion that actually startled me at first.

How’s that for a revelation?

We spend so much time focusing on what we think we are limited by, that in the end we actually do become limited. Our limitations are a product of our own imagination. They only become real when we think they are real.

We’re surrounded by innumerable freedoms. We have the freedom to think, the freedom to love and the freedom to express our own opinions.

We have the freedom to live where we want to, work where we want to and go where we want to.

We have an immense amount of FREEDOM!

Ultimately, we have everything we could possibly want or need to win. It’s all just a matter of choice and desire.

The freedom is already there. It’s always been there. It’s just been hidden by your excuses. Lay claim to what’s been waiting for you. There’s nothing to stop you from having it.

Your job situation, family situation, present location and current income level mean absolutely nothing. They’re all just incidental variables.

All that really matters is your thinking. Are you honest with yourself? Anything you tell yourself to rationalize failure is simply an excuse.

The only thing that can keep you from success is your own self-doubt and worry.

If you lack time to build your business, then find a job that’s less demanding. If you lack skills, then invest in training products. Just because something might be difficult or unpleasant doesn’t mean it’s impossible.

The FREEDOM is already there. There’s nothing to stop you from doing what you want (within the law of course). If you truly believe in your own ability to succeed, then what are you waiting for? Make the commitment and drop the excuses.

The definition of an “entrepreneur” is this: “A person who organizes and operates a business or businesses, taking on financial risk to do so.”

Our founding fathers risked everything, including their very lives, to give us the freedom we now enjoy. Thousands more died defending it. Take advantage of this extraordinary gift. It’s already in your hands.

Yours in Financial Freedom,

Alex Levandoski
